Delivery of the Train the Trainer Program a Success

During this past Fall, the NLSARA was involved in the delivery of the Train the Trainer program. This program was designed for training officers, course leaders, and trainers who want to develop and reinforce their instructional techniques, learn how to expertly facilitate learning, and sharpen their presentation skills.

The course provided designated trainers with an opportunity to learn the principles of adult learning and to practice facilitation skills using the content the NLSARA’s training standards.

The Train the Trainer package consists of a training manual, PowerPoint presentation, lesson plans and presentation evaluation forms.

The program commenced with the certification of five Instructor-Trainers during a training session in St. John’s in June.

The Train the Trainer roll-out program commenced in Labrador in September, with regional training sessions being held in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Churchill Falls and Labrador City.

Regional training sessions for the island portion of the province commenced in mid-October with sessions being held in Stephenville Crossing, Deer Lake, Grand Falls, Clarenville and St. John’s.

Several sessions will be held after Christmas for those members who were unable to attend the training.

If any team/individual has questions or concerns during the delivery of the Searcher II training, please feel free to contact the Program Development Officer asap
